Microsoft Backup Utility for Windows XP Home?

I gather I need the above disc in order to back up particularl files and folders. I didn’t receive the disc with my new pc when I bought it I’m sure (and my pc’s search facility does not come up with anything similarly named already on it), so can you please tell me the quickest/best method of getting hold of a copy? Is it possible to download the software online? If it is, please advise re how/where. Thanks

Well the fastest way would be to get a cd that is named Windows XP Recovery CD and you can find that at http://www.bootandrescuecd.com/ or on ebay then you would pop that in your cd as your computer boots (if it doesnt boot then check your BIOS) I can help you with that. Then once it loads just choose the option RECOVER and if that still wont fix your problem then just go and install a new copy of windows xp then you go and hit exape when it asks you if you want to revover then it will give you the patitions. delete the one you have and then create a new one and format it and then just follow instructions.

I would phone them up tomorrow. Every PC setup is different. What I do is image my C: drive with Acronis TrueImage 11. Then if I need to, I can replace my C: drive with that image. Works a treat. I configured my downloads and documents to save on D:\

I doubt Microsoft Backup is very good anyway.
Perhaps it is this (from my XP):
%SystemRoot%\system32\ntbackup.exe
Paste that into the Menu ‘Run’ white input box.
I found a link called Backup in the System folder of the menu.
