Best free backup software for Windows?

I am wondering what the best backup software (for free (possible open source) ) for windows XP is. I need it to auto sync every day, or hour, or anything i can set.

    Do you want to create a full "Disk Image" or ONLY your personal data??? What media do you plan to "Sync" to: Drive C:, another partition, an external hard drive, CD, DVD, the web or Flash drive? For Home or business?

    If Personal Data, these apps are very good: DriveImageXML or Karen’s Replicator Google for them.

    TIP: You shouldn’t need any software, if you manually copy all your personal data to CD / DVD daily (Drag & Drop). This is the most reliable method.
